Jeffrey T. Elliott

Jeff Elliott is the Senior Pastor at New Covenant. Jeff grew up in a Christian home outside Chicago, but was himself an atheist until his senior year of high school, at which point he began to believe in God, but was not yet converted to Christianity. During his sophomore year at Wake Forest, God broke and humbled him, showing Jeff his inability to fix himself and giving him realization of the need to surrender to Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord. Within a year, God called him to the ministry, so he attended Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, after which he served as an intern at McLean Presbyterian Church in northern Virginia. Jeff arrived here with his wife, Margaret, after assisting for 19 years in two churches in the Jackson, Mississippi area. Jeff is excited to see the gospel bear fruit and grow here as it is doing throughout the whole world (Col 1:6).

Kenneth M. Shomo

Ken Shomo is associate pastor at New Covenant. Ken grew up in a "half Christian" home with a mother who prayed faithfully for him. In spite of many obstacles, God brought Ken to a vibrant faith in Jesus Christ. He soon experienced a strong sense of call to pastoral ministry, which he pursued first in a non-denominational setting and later through training at Covenant Theological Seminary. He enjoys ministering to people from all walks of life, having lived in several major cities--including Detroit, San Diego, St. Louis, and Metro New York. Prior to his move to Virginia Beach, he served as an associate pastor in the Metropolitan New York Presbytery. He is married to Cheryl and together they enjoy their young son, Cullen.
