What is a Growth Group?

“Encourage one another daily, as long as it is called today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness...” “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds...” Hebrews 10:24, 3:13

God’s word commands us to know one another in the local church well enough that we might grow together. We are commanded to encourage one another, to meaningfully pray for one another, to bear with one another and forgive one another, and to love one another. Pastors and teachers are also called to equip us for the ways we serve Christ during the week, which occurs not only on Sunday mornings (in a “big picture” manner) but in small groups (in a more specific manner).

The words of Galatians 6:2 speak loudly to us: “Bear one another's burdens, and thus fulfill the law of Christ.”

With this in mind, we offer Growth Groups and other small groups which are designed to be a place for mutual encouragement and for equipping one another for meaningful service to our Lord Jesus Christ.

In order that you may grow and flourish in every way, the leaders of New Covenant ask each member to regularly attend Sunday morning worship, one of many small groups, and also to serve others through participating on a ministry team.

An important announcement: If you attend New Covenant, we ask you to strongly consider opening your home for a growth group beginning this summer or this fall. Or you may wish to lead a study. Please email the church office or Pastor Shomo, and we will gladly speak to you about how you might use your gifts in this way.

We currently have Growth Groups on Sundays and Wednesdays which meet in homes or at the church. Please contact the church office for exact times, locations, and study topics.

Additional Opportunities

Two women’s studies meet during the week on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. We also have a College & Career Group, a youth group, and other unique opportunities for fellowship around God’s word and ministry such as our summer missions team & VBS team.
